Sustainability Report 2025

The year 2025 has shown once again that we are living in turbulent times: unpredictable and dynamic changes require quick, flexible, and sometimes unusual solutions in view of current risks and increasing regulatory requirements. This makes it all the more important to reflect on our own values and to support their preservation in a sustainable manner. This is easy for us to do, as EVG has been working intuitively – and with deep conviction – for many years to promote sustainable development.

In 2024, a comprehensive analysis of our current sustainability data was carried out. It clearly identified our most important areas for action. These findings provide impetus for our actions, form a systematic approach, and serve as a guide for our future orientation.

Our vision is clearly defined: as the market leader, we want to position EVG as a provider of holistic solutions. This is the basis for our fundamental approach, which is based on both proven models of success and new innovative approaches.

The development department is actively driving forward the sustainable system change of our products – with a clear focus on resource efficiency and the circular economy. Since 2018, we have been using a structured, continuously optimized stage-gate development process for this purpose – permanently refined and most recently updated in 2025 – on the basis of which we develop resource-efficient production facilities and specialized machines and devices for finishing wire, bar, and flat steel using detailed specifications. Before a product is physically created, numerous variants are created as 3D models and evaluated virtually.

A central component of the Stage-Gate process is the consistent processing of defined tasks such as value management with functional analyses of all mechanical and electrical assemblies. Through optimized component masses, targeted speed design, and simulations of production processes, we achieve maximum output with minimum energy consumption—especially in the areas of welding technology and drive systems. The mechanical and electrical components are designed according to the fatigue strength principle to ensure a long service life and long-term reliable production use.

Our strategic modernization concept for production facilities and infrastructure was pushed forward with full force in 2025 – with the clear goal of sustainably increasing energy efficiency. The flame cutting shop and spring steel cutting facility were upgraded to meet modern standards, the small parts inspection area was completely rebuilt, and a sawing center was brought up to the latest state of the art.

At the same time, following the successful renovation of the hall roofs, we implemented another key project: the upper floor of Hall A has been comprehensively thermally modernized in recent months and prepared for the opening of our new, attractive factory canteen – another important step towards a future-oriented and employee-friendly working environment.

A key step toward reducing our energy consumption is the installation of a photovoltaic system on the roofs of the EVG halls. From February 2026, part of our production energy will be generated directly from solar power. We expect this to yield an annual energy output of around 300 MWh and save around 120 tons of CO₂ emissions per year – a visible contribution to greater sustainability.

EVG also focuses specifically on the social aspects of sustainability and strives for comprehensive occupational safety that is deeply integrated into its processes. In recent years, we have worked hard to systematically improve and continuously expand our occupational safety management system. The positive results of these measures were recognized in 2025 with a “Safe and Healthy Working” seal of approval from the Austrian AUVA following a thorough on-site audit by AUVA inspectors.

This year, we implemented a new occupational health concept that not only ensures complete coverage of the statutory health protection requirements, but also includes supplementary measures for preventive accident prevention and individual support for individual employee groups. In 2026, we will continue this work and expand our focus to include new topics such as our mental health and mental resilience.

At the beginning of 2025, EVG designed and published a code of conduct for suppliers – a transparent guide to ethical, sustainable, and responsible behavior throughout our entire supply chain. We set binding standards in the areas of working and social conditions, environmental protection, integrity, quality, and product safety, and expect our partners to live by these principles just as we do. With this step, we are not only demonstrating transparency and trust towards our customers and partners, but also underlining our commitment to sustainable, fair, and future-oriented cooperation.

In 2026, EVG will continue to actively participate in the ÖKOPROFIT program of the Graz Environmental Agency. We greatly value this partnership: as a community of like-minded companies, we exchange valuable experiences, learn about best practices, and benefit from joint solutions. The program’s holistic approach covers numerous relevant environmental areasfrom energy and working materials to waste, material flows, and raw materials – enabling us to systematically shape sustainability at EVG: step by step, project-based, and continuously – always on track, regularly implemented, and seamlessly integrated into our operational processes.

Our 2025 customer survey included questions on sustainability for the first time. The numerous responses showed how great the interest in information about our activities is. We are responding to this request and will inform our customers regularly about this in the future.
